Comprehensive Dental Evaluation & Cosmetic Dentistry Consultation in Los Angeles

One of the most common questions I receive from patients considering porcelain veneers, a smile makeover, or full mouth reconstruction is:

“Doctor, how much will my treatment cost?”

It is an important question. But before I can recommend treatment or accurately discuss the cost, I first need to understand the health, function, bite, and cosmetic condition of your existing teeth.

Beautiful cosmetic dentistry should not be planned by looking only at the front teeth.

My goal is to first determine what you need, what you want, what your options are, and which treatment will provide the most predictable and long-lasting result.

For this reason, our office offers two different levels of evaluation.

Initial Cosmetic Dentistry Consultation – $250

For patients who would first like to meet me and discuss their concerns and cosmetic goals, an initial consultation is available for $250.

This visit includes:

• A cursory dental examination
• Approximately 20 photographs of your existing teeth and smile
• Evaluation of the general health, appearance, shape, and condition of your teeth
• Discussion of your cosmetic concerns and what you would like to change
• An initial consultation with Dr. Anthony Mobasser regarding possible treatment options
• This is an excellent starting point for someone who wants to explore possibilities such as porcelain veneers, cosmetic dentistry, dental bonding, crowns, or a smile makeover.

However, an initial consultation is not the same as a complete diagnostic evaluation.

If you are considering extensive cosmetic or reconstructive treatment—particularly multiple porcelain veneers, smile makeover, or a full mouth reconstruction—I generally recommend a Comprehensive Full Mouth Evaluation before making a definitive diagnosis and treatment recommendation.

Comprehensive Full Mouth Dental Evaluation – $1,950

The comprehensive evaluation is a detailed diagnostic examination of your teeth, gums, bone, bite, function, and cosmetic needs.

The fee is $1,950 and includes the diagnostic records and evaluations necessary for me to study your mouth carefully and then discuss appropriate treatment modalities with you.

Your Comprehensive Evaluation Includes:

18 Periapical Dental X-Rays

Detailed radiographs allow me to evaluate areas that cannot be adequately assessed by photographs alone, including the roots of the teeth, surrounding bone, existing restorations, and other underlying dental conditions.

Full-Mouth Impressions and Diagnostic Study Casts

Impressions are taken to create models of your teeth. These allow me to study tooth position, relationships between the upper and lower teeth, available space, and other factors important to treatment planning.

Detailed Bite and Occlusion Analysis

Your bite is extremely important when planning cosmetic dentistry.

The most beautiful porcelain restoration is not successful if the patient’s bite places destructive forces on it.

I evaluate how your upper and lower teeth come together and how your bite may influence the selection, design, and longevity of restorations.

Bone and Gum Measurements

Healthy gums and adequate periodontal support are fundamental to successful cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Your gum and bone condition must therefore be evaluated before definitive treatment is recommended.

Saliva Testing

When indicated as part of the comprehensive evaluation, saliva testing can provide additional information relevant to your oral environment and dental health.

Cosmetic and Facial Evaluation

I evaluate more than individual teeth. I study how your teeth relate to your:

• Smile
• Lips and lip line
• Face
• Tooth proportions
• Tooth shape
• Existing tooth color
• Gum display
• Desired final color and appearance

The objective is not simply to make teeth “white.” It is to create a smile that is harmonious with your face while respecting the health and function of your mouth.

Diagnosis First — Treatment Options Second

After gathering the necessary information, I study your records to determine what treatment may be appropriate.

Depending on your individual condition and goals, your treatment options may include porcelain veneers, dental bonding, porcelain crowns, replacement of existing restorations, smile makeover procedures, full mouth reconstruction, or sometimes minimal or no treatment at all.

How Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost?

here is no single veneer price that appropriately applies to every patient.

The cost can vary depending upon the patient’s existing dental condition, bite, desired color, amount of customization required, number of teeth involved, complexity of treatment, and the type of porcelain selected.

For this reason, I prefer not to recommend a specific treatment—or quote a definitive treatment fee—until I understand what is actually required to achieve the result the patient wants.

Why Is a Full Mouth Evaluation Important Before Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are cosmetic restorations, but they still function within a biological and mechanical system.

Before recommending veneers, I want to know:

• Are the teeth healthy?
• Are the gums and supporting bone healthy?
• Are existing fillings, crowns, or veneers functioning properly?
• What forces does the patient’s bite place on the front teeth?
• How much tooth structure is available?
• What tooth shape and proportion will complement the patient’s face?
• Can we accomplish the patient’s goals conservatively?

These questions can significantly affect the treatment plan, choice of material, number of teeth treated, longevity of treatment, and ultimately the cost.
