What’s the Difference Between a Smile Makeover and a Full Mouth Reconstruction?
Dr. Anthony Mobasser, a renowned cosmetic dentist in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, discusses the factors that distinguish a smile restoration from a full mouth rehabilitation.
A lot of people ask me questions. What’s the difference between a smile makeover and a full mouth reconstruction? As you can see, smile makeover only shows the smile, okay? It shows, let’s say, from side to side. When you turn your head from side to side or you’re smiling, that’s called smile makeover.
Full mouth reconstruction. It does involve your smile, plus that it involves all your back teeth also. So if we need to increase the length of your teeth, for instance, full mouth reconstruction is better than just doing a smile makeover, okay? Because your bite is going to be more symmetrical. And on the full mouth reconstruction, we make sure that everything is symmetrical, it’s done to the right occlusion and there is not going to be any TMJ problems later on.
