هل أحتاج إلى حلق أسناني للحصول على قشرة الأسنان؟

Dr. Anthony Mobasser, a renowned cosmetic dentist in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles, discusses the necessary methodology to prepare teeth to successfully bond with dental veneers.

A lot of people are asking me, do I have to shave my teeth down to get Veneers? Actually, no, okay, because if you shave them as much down as some people are imagining, they’re getting a crown. The actual Veneer is called minimal prep.

And of course we have Veneers, which which we take about 1 mm off of the tooth. But I tend to go to the ultra thin Veneers, which are about 0.3 to 0.5 mm off the tooth. Okay. And this way your whole tooth is saved.

There’s not much enamel removed and hopefully you have no dentin exposure. But the best thing is to do is to have a consultation with me and then after the consultation, I will specifically show you how much we’re going to be removing from the tooth. And basically, you will not need any temporaries because after the preparation, the first visit and we take impressions, of course, you see that your teeth are a little bit roughened and that’s all there is to it. If I’m going to be taking a lot from the tooth, I don’t call it a Veneer no more. I call it a porcelain restoration.

So as far as the question goes, no, your teeth are not going to be shaved much. Okay. It’s just going to be roughened. But we need a skilled master ceramist to fabricate those Veneers for you, which they are ultra thin and they look natural beautiful, and you’re going to be proud of having that to wear that smile.
